Vobecky Enterprises, Inc. (VEI) served as the Prime Contractor to the US Army Corps of Engineers to provide construction services for the HVAC refurbishment project at the Bay Model Visitor Center, in Sausalito, CA. The facility houses the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Bay Model, a 134,400 SF working hydraulic model of the San Francisco Bay and Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta System. Challenging aspects of the project included 1) work in occupied and operational facility, 2) phasing work around public events, and 3) conducting work on the facility’s historic barrel roof.
